Flexible Dentures:

Patients looking for a comfortable alternative to traditional dentures could be interested in Flexible dentures, available at the Aesthetic Dental Zone.

The flexible denture works by flexing into position, not needing the use of metal clasping mechanisms to hold the dentures in place. Individuals with irregularities in the shape of their mouth could benefit greatly from the treatment and experience a growth to their self-confidence as a result.

Patients who wear flexible dentures are extremely unlikely to experience any pain or discomfort from the fixture, due to the lack of metal clasps or adhesive. Using this form of treatment, individuals are able to enjoy increased retention as a result of the custom-fitted design.

In addition, flexible dentures provide a more cosmetic solution for people by being more aesthetically pleasing than their traditional counterparts. The material used to create the fixture is transparent and blends in with the natural gum colour in the mouth. The metal clasps found in traditional dentures are replaced with tooth coloured clasps in flexible dentures.

Valplast Dentures:

Valplast is a flexible resin based denture that is ideal for use as a partial denture as it is unbreakable in use. The biocompatible nylon thermoplastic denture contains physical and aesthetic properties to allow a patient’s natural gum tissue colour to appear through the material, which makes it almost invisible to the human eye.

Metal Dentures: Cobol Chrome

Metal dentures are usually smaller than plastic dentures and do not fully cover the roof of the mouth as plastic dentures do. As a result of the roof of the mouth being left uncovered, this improves the taste sensation for the denturewearer, so the patient can taste foods better than if the roof of the mouth was fully covered.

Acrylic Dentures:

Here at the Aesthetic Dental Zone, your practitioner can recommend acrylic dentures to fill gaps or replace all the missing teeth from the upper or lower jaw.  Some acrylic partial fittings feature metal clips or clasps, but rather than adding greater support, these fixtures simply help to retain the dentures in the correct position.

Treatment:

All laboratories used here at the Aesthetic Dental Zone are GDC Registered and a list of materials our laboratory technician’s use can be organized for you to see. Please give details to our reception team who will be more than happy to arrange this for you.

Most denture treatments take approximately 4 visits.

Initially we will assess your teeth to make sure that a metal denture is the right treatment for you. If it is, we will then take impressions of your teeth and gums and ask the dental laboratory to produce your custom made denture

“All new dentures similar to new shoes need a period of getting used to them, so we usually ask our patients to wear their new denture and eat with the denture for a few days and then come back to the clinic for the denture to be reviewed and any further adjustments needed to be carried out”.
